Once again, a change of perspective bring us a photograph that stops the eye in its flight over the pictures.

The photo was taken while I was piloting my motorized paraglider over Laguna Colorada (Bolivia), which is the nesting site for some 50% of the world’s population of Jame’s flamingos.  Flying a foot-launched ultralight at this altitude (4,300 meters) is very challenging, but the birds have no airborne predators and let me approach quite close before taking flight. The photo was taken with a hand-held Canon 5D and a 24-105mm zoom.  To me a great photo shows people something they have never seen before, or at least visualizes something in a new and insightful way.
