After some investigation, it seems that this is the (ugly) way Adobe software tells that it is not being installed on the right software.

If you check the &quot;system requirements&quot; on the download page, you will be informed that you need to have Adobe Creative Suite 4 or Photoshop CS4. If you have LightRoom 2.5, these conditions are not met.

Actually, LightRoom cannot exploit the ACR plug-in but incudes the technology right inside itself. You will have to wait for the next update of LR (probably when it gets out of beta).]]></description>

I downloaded the above and opened the Adobe updater. The installer for Photoshop Camera Raw gives me the Welcome, but under that word says:
