Gigapan is this tripod and equipment set used to shot semi-automatically a set of pictures that will be stitched together in a major picture made of billions of pixels.<\/p>\n

David Bergman<\/a> brought one to the Washington’s inaugural address of Barack Obama. With its small Canon G10, it shot 220 images, brought them to a Macbook Pro and after more than 6 hours of Gigapan software data crunching to get the nearly 2 GB of TIFF file.<\/p>\n

Use the controls to zoom and pan around the photo. You can also double click to zoom in and the mouse wheel to zoom in or out or the mouse to drag right or left.<\/p>\n
