In August, Canon had announced its newest lines of high-end pro tele-lenses (EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM) and a EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM zoom. Small issues with the manufacturing, with planned process improvements.
Nevertheless, it will take us up to March 2011… We will have to be very patient.

I have more patience than money. What is the expected budget for one of these ?

I don’t believe that Canon has been giving any price right now.
The current 400mm (resp. 300mm) never seems to appear under 7000US$ (resp. 4000US$) and I would not expect Canon to under-price the new ones. 8000US$ and 5000US$ will probably be a minimum. Make sure you have an appointment with your bank account manager before March 2011.
